Our Mission
The Mission of the Career Transition Connection is to provide a caring Christian environment for people in job transition. This will be accomplished through providing support, career transition resources, and networking opportunities. This is a ministry that will be made available to church members and the community as a whole.
Those in transition may include people between jobs, considering job moves, entering the workplace for the first time, or exploring new opportunities.
Support
Support for participants includes prayer and sharing through personal and group interaction. This support will help participants feel a sense of Christian community and caring while increasing the general awareness to the congregation of this needed ministry. A self-sustaining strategy is intended in which individuals who have been through a job-search process will help others in their search. Pastor Marlin Harris of Woodbury Lutheran provides pastoral support to the ministry.
Resources
Speakers include professionals in the fields of human resources, job placement, career growth, and business and personal planning; job and life coaches; financial advisors; clergy and licensed therapists.
Other resources include books and other helpful job search tools, personal connections, links to jobs boards and job openings, websites, newsletters and Email options.
Networking
Networking allows participants to connect with people who can be of help in their job search and provides individual encouragement and offers of prayer support.
