Woodbury Lutheran Church's 40th Anniversary
Woodbury Lutheran Church will celebrate its 40th anniversary on Sunday, June 15, with several special events. Founding Pastor Paul Pfotenhauer, who is celebrating 50 years in the ministry, will preach at all three services, 8:00, 9:30 and 11:00 a.m. in the main sanctuary. The 8 and 11 services will include a historical slide show, "music through the ages," and special music by past and present members of the Woodbury Lutheran Chorale. The 9:30 service will be Genesis-style contemporary. An hour of reminiscence will take place at 9:30 a.m. in the Genesis Room (original sanctuary). At noon, a catered picnic will be held on the church grounds. Members and guests should register for the church picnic at the Welcome Center.
Managing Our Finances God's Way
Financially challenged in today's economy or just looking for ways to spend less and save more? Life Planning Ministries is offering Crown Financial's highly acclaimed Managing Our Finances God's Way, video series and Bible study, Wednesday evenings, June 11, 18, 25 and July 9, 16, 23 and 30, 6:30 - 8 p.m. Video presenters Rick Warren, Chuck Bentley, Howard Dayton, Ron Blue and Chip Ingram provide Biblical instruction and practical advice to bring you out of debt and into financial security. Workbook includes CD-rom with budget worksheets, debt spenddown and savings plans. This series is open to the community. Cash Camp
Get ready for Cash Camp! Sponsored by Life Planning Ministries for Kids entering grades 2-6, July 28-31. Based on In God We Trust from Crown Financial to help your kids learn sound Godly financial principles. Click here for more information, to register your children, or to volunteer.
CPR Training
As we work with the City of Woodbury on community and regional disaster preparedness plans, it is important our church body be "disaster ready" by having people trained to respond. CPR Certification is available through Woodbury Lutheran on May 3 and May 7, June 4 and 7, and July 9 and 12. Training is provided by Woodbury Public Safety, cost $4 payable to the city. Register with Vicki Strong, 651.739.5144, ext. 236, or 651.208.4353 (cell). Priority will be given to those interested in serving on WLC disaster response teams, but will open the week of the training if registration does not fill with team members.

Flood relief help still desperately needed!
Flood relief work in SE Minnesota continues. In anticipation of the weather warming up (we hope!) and an upswing in interest by homeowners to get work done, we are coordinating Lutheran Church Missouri Synod Minnesota projects on two Saturdays in March and five days in April. Skilled and unskilled labor will be needed. More here...
